Publication Ethic
JUNITA is an electronic scholarly journal managed by the Faculty of Business and Tourism, Universitas Matana, Tangerang, Indonesia. The journal is published twice a year and applies a double-blind peer-review system to ensure the quality, integrity, and objectivity of published articles.
JUNITA is committed to maintaining academic integrity, scientific quality, transparency, and professionalism throughout the publication process. This Publication Ethics Statement is developed based on internationally recognized principles of publication ethics, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
This policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including editors, authors, and reviewers. Each party is expected to understand and fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining the integrity of scholarly publishing.
EDITORIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Objectivity and Fairness : Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their academic quality and relevance to the focus and scope of JUNITA. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the author's gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, institutional affiliation, political views, or other personal characteristics.
- Initial Manuscript Assessment : All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment. This process includes evaluation of the manuscript's relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, completeness, publication ethics, and an initial originality or similarity check. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements will proceed to double-blind peer review.
- Publication Decisions : Editors are responsible for determining whether a manuscript is suitable for publication based on the editorial assessment and reviewers' recommendations. Possible decisions include acceptance, revision, further revision, or rejection. Decisions should consider the manuscript's scholarly quality, originality, methodological validity, contribution, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- Confidentiality : Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all information relating to manuscripts under consideration. Manuscript content, author identities, reviewer reports, and editorial information must not be disclosed to unauthorized parties.
- Conflicts of Interest : Editors must not handle manuscripts when they have relationships or interests that may compromise their objectivity. Conflicts of interest may involve personal, professional, academic, collaborative, institutional, or financial relationships. When a conflict is identified, the manuscript should be transferred to another editor without such a conflict.
- Research and Publication Integrity : Editors are responsible for responding appropriately to suspected publication misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, and other forms of academic misconduct. Editors may request clarification from authors or relevant parties and take appropriate action according to the nature and seriousness of the alleged misconduct.

All listed authors must approve the final version and agree to its submission to JUNITA. Any change in authorship after submission must be supported by a clear explanation and approval from all relevant authors.

Where plagiarism or other academic misconduct is suspected, editors may request clarification, require revisions, or reject the manuscript depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
- Post-Publication Corrections : If authors identify significant errors in their published article, they must promptly notify the JUNITA editor. Authors are expected to cooperate with the editor in issuing corrections or taking other appropriate editorial action when such errors affect the validity or interpretation of the article.
