Aim and Scope
Jurnal Bisnis dan Pariwisata is a scholarly journal managed by the Faculty of Business and Tourism, Universitas Matana, Tangerang, Indonesia. The journal publishes research findings, scholarly studies, and academic perspectives in the fields of Accounting, Management, and Tourism, including interdisciplinary research that integrates these fields with other relevant disciplines.
Jurnal Bisnis dan Pariwisata aims to provide a platform for academics, researchers, lecturers, students, and practitioners to disseminate research findings and scholarly ideas that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, innovation, and professional practice in the fields of business and tourism.
The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research, as well as conceptual and applied studies that demonstrate clear academic contributions and/or practical implications.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:
- Accounting, including financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, public sector accounting, and financial reporting and governance.
- Management, including human resource management, marketing management, financial management, operations management, strategic management, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, digital business, and innovation management.
- Tourism, including destination management, sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, tourism marketing, tourist behavior, destination development, tourism economics, and tourism policy.
- Hospitality and hotel management, including hotel management, hospitality management, service quality, service excellence, customer experience, hotel operations, and human resource management in the hospitality industry.
- MICE and events, including Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions, event management, event planning and organization, event marketing, event experience, and destination management for MICE activities.
- Creative economy and entrepreneurship, including MSME development, creative industries, business innovation, tourism entrepreneurship, business models, and enterprise development.
- Marketing and consumer behavior, including digital marketing, destination branding, consumer behavior, customer experience, social media, and marketing communication strategies.
- Sustainability and tourism development, including sustainable tourism, environmental management, climate change, green economy, low-carbon tourism, and inclusive and resilient destination development.
- Destination and community development, including community empowerment, local economies, stakeholder engagement, destination governance, the pentahelix model, and community-based tourism development.
- Technology and digital transformation in business and tourism, including artificial intelligence, digital tourism, smart tourism, information systems, e-commerce, and technology-driven innovation.
- Business and tourism policy, governance, and strategy, including public policy, good governance, organizational management, destination competitiveness, and business and tourism development strategies.
- Interdisciplinary studies connecting business, accounting, management, tourism, economics, technology, environmental studies, social sciences, and other relevant fields.
Within this scope, Jurnal Bisnis dan Pariwisata welcomes three types of scholarly contributions:
- Original Research Articles
Articles presenting empirical research findings supported by rigorous and clearly described methodologies, with contributions to knowledge and/or practice in business, accounting, management, and tourism.
- Theoretical and Conceptual Articles
Articles that develop, integrate, critically evaluate, or extend relevant theories, concepts, models, and conceptual frameworks in the fields of business and tourism.
- Practical and Policy Contributions
Articles presenting findings, approaches, strategies, or recommendations with relevant practical and policy implications for businesses, organizations, government, tourism industries, and communities.
Jurnal Bisnis dan Pariwisata particularly encourages research that bridges theory and practice and provides meaningful contributions to the development of innovative, sustainable, inclusive, and competitive business and tourism sectors.
The journal is published twice a year and welcomes submissions from lecturers, researchers, students, academics, and practitioners to disseminate research findings and scholarly perspectives.
